To obtain membership with JDXP, an organization must submit a request for membership. The request should include the following information: the Taxpayer Registration Number (TRN), name, address, contact details, nature of business, business registration number (if available), and the name and contact details of the organization’s Data Protection Officer (DPO). Additionally, the IP address(s) of the organization’s network are required for validation.

The safety of your data in the Jamaica Data Exchange Platform (JDXP) is ensured through various measures and mechanisms. JDXP ensures compliance with applicable legislation, including the Data Protection Act (DPA), and mandates the requirements for access, use, and protection of Personal Identifiable Information (PII).

The specific measures implemented to ensure data safety include:
  • The authentication standard for web services, using JSON Web Tokens (JWTs) with OpenID Connect based on the OAuth2 standard, ensuring that only authorized users can access web services.
  • Implementation of strong user authentication and authorization.
  • Protection of data privacy through multiple strategies to protect against unauthorized access to data
  • Auditing of user events and activities, ensuring traceability and accountability for access to data.
  • Compliance with the Electronic Transaction Act (ETA), which sets out the legal framework governing electronic transactions and ensures that data requested from a data subject does not exceed what is necessary to execute the transaction.
